Medal Presentation Night, Friday, November 18th 2022.

Date

On Friday night the Juvenile Committee held a Medal Presentation night to award 80 of their players who were on successful teams during the year. The 2021 U13 team, the U15 team, minor team and U19 team were all present to accept their medals from guest of honour; Dublin Footballer, Philly McMahon. Philly gave an inspirational talk to a captive audience who all will at some stage have to make that “half-time choice”.

Gary Farrell then presented last year’s successful “double” League and Championship team with their medals. Harry Byrne’s medals were collected by his brother, Sam. A signed jersey by all Harry’s teammates was presented to Fergal and Annette by Gary who recalled some fond and funny memories of Harry.

Tadhg Hunt accepted a beautiful piece of Jerpoint Glass Jerpoint Glass on behalf of his father, the late Tom Hunt who contributed so much to Young Irelands GAA, especially in football. Tadhg then presented the 2022 Young Irelands’ Féile Football team with their winning medals.

Michael Pitt then called on the U15 League and Championship Shield teams to collect their medals. Michael had many a kind and encouraging word to say about his team though a few words of warning were given too🤣😉!!

Ciarán Phelan then invited the Minor Championship Shield team to accept their medals from Philly. Next Tom Drennan called upon the U19 League team to collect their medals. Finally, Club Chairman, Denis Quinlan made a presentation to Patrick Langton, a framed photo of the U20 All Ireland. Patrick represented the Club on the winning U20 Kilkenny team.

To end the night, TJ Mills spun the decks and some great music was had at the disco for the three hundred plus in attendance.
