On Sunday last, the U10 Young Ireland team journeyed south to Piltown and though many got lost enroute, all eventually made it for 12:30 throw-in.
Two games ensued and the sideline was witness to some very physical and tough hurling. The goalkeepers on all 4 teams showed exemplar skill and reaction. Scores were thus hard fought for. The Young Ireland side displayed some great blocking and hand- passing, and both teams worked hard to win both their games. This was no mean feat as Piltown gave them great games and it was by small margins that Gowran came out on top.
The boys were presented with certificates and goodie bags by Kilkenny hurler Ger Aylward for their participation. Many thanks to Piltown for inviting the U10s down.
